in the uk, you can call the police for that, you should have a setting on your phone to change who you allow to ring you. if you call the police and tell them that you are begining to feel threatened by it then they should be able to trace it!
That's pretty shoddy if your mobile company can't do anything about it. Normally, I'd just kick and scream, ask to speak to management, and chew management up for being so useless they can't block a number for you. (Even if it's a restricted number, they should have a way of obtaining it). Involve the police at the same time, because it's your safety at risk, and obviously the phone company aren't taking you seriously enough.
I used to get prank phone calls a lot, so I attached a whistle to a bracelet on my wrist. When a person I couldn't recognise/identify called me, I'd say hello, but if they didn't respond, I'd blow into the whistle down the phone receiver. I usually heard an 'argh!' down the other end, and they wouldn't bother me again.
or...
You can pay ME to hunt them down and... off them...
Seriously, the mobile company _can_ do something - they can block the number, they have the means to trace the number where the call is coming from, even if your cellphone can't recognize it. So don't take no for an answer from them - scream down the phone until they sort it out.
Contact the police and have them trace the number down. The police will help you.
I would definitely contact the police. It's harassment and you shouldn't have to be subjected to that.
all you have to do is call your operator and tell them what was going on and they will transport you on the other line to the police then they will tell you if they call bac try to keep them on the phone for 1 minute. then they can trace the call its that easy just remember to keep them on the phone for 1 minute! IT REALLY WORKS!
well 1st of all, you're phone can be completely turned off during the night, and the alarm clock that is set on it will still go off :]
and secondly, call the operator or something, they should be able to help. if it really bothers you call the police.
ok umm you can track them by callin the cops that something.
but then it might be imature kids or friends playing with you!
So yeah.. last time they called I told them I had the LAPD tracing the call. Let's just say they haven't called since, lol.
id honestly call the police, because my friend got a call like that and they left a message and they said his name and they like said they were going to come to his house and were saying they were going to do dirty things to him. and it was a man. and even if they arent sayuing anything to you, they could still be stalking you. id call the police.

go in your phone settings, call sounds, call ringtone, and chose restricted calls. Scroll to the bottom of your list and it should say no ring. That way, your alam will still sound, but if they call, you will not have to hear it.

What to do about this stalker?
Send me Fun Mail
So this has been going on for about 3 or 4 days now... I use my cell phone as my alarm clock, so I can't have my phone muted at night. Capice?
Starting about 3 nights ago, I see I'm getting a call from a restricted number at about 3 am. Sometimes my phone is weird and just doesn't recognize contacts I already have.. so it shows up as restricted. It was 3am but I didn't care much, sometimes a friend needs to be picked up, etc. You know. But whoever this person was, was breathing REALLY heavily, kind of groaning. It creeped me out. They didn't respond much when I'd say something, so I hung up. 15 minutes later I get another restricted call. Same person. Get a call again at around 5am, but didn't pick up. Later that day.. in the afternoon, I get the call again, same pattern.. breathing heavily, etc.
This has been happening every day and night since then. Today was the last straw, they called about 10 minutes ago, this time I wanted answers. They KNOW I can hear them, and I know they hear me.. because they respond with grunts or moans if I ask a question. SOMETIMES I can barely make out a real word, but they mumble. Personally, it sounds really disgusting. The heavy breathing, noises. I think you're catching on, yes? It's disturbing.
Basically.. is there any way I can trace who this person is? Or better yet just BLOCK them? I tried calling Verizon but they can't do anything. This can't go on, and it's really starting to freak me out. Thanks!
