I fear i may have hiv

on an island Asked by greek3nny about 1 year ago, 7 answers.

First off, im only 14, have never had sex, and im about 99% sure my parents DON'T have HIV. However, I have a white, film/covering on my tongue, and sometimes red bumps occur on the tip of my tongue. I feel sick everyday, especially in the morning, with...

extremely painful stomach and side aches. There are also some sort of bumps on my...private region. Also, I get tired out of nowhere, but when I go to bed, it takes me AT LEAST 45 minutes to fall asleep. I also wake up in the middle of the night sweating. I've told my doctor about all of this, but I'm not sure if she looked at them combined, she just gives me an antibiotic, which does nothing. I've had MANY blood tests, and nothing was said about any diseases, so what should I do? Yell at my doctor?

Without having sex or contact of lots of bodily fluids with an infected person, it's unlikely that you would have HIV.

What sounds more likely is MONO. Which is usually misdiagnosed. When I had mono I first went to the doctor and was told I had a throat infection - was given antibiotic.
It didn't go away and it got worse so I went back 3 days later. I was told it could be strep throat and was given a different antibiotic treatment.
Another week went by with no improvement and I went back and they did a throat culture... it came up negative for strep. SO they told me about the possibility of it being mono. Did a finger prick test and tada it was positive for the Epstein Barr Virus(which causes mononucleousis).

Once you get the epstein barr virus(EBV) you will always have it, but you won't always have mono. (there is some debate on wether you can develop mono multiple times)
The only treatment for mono is rest. I slept like all the time and it seemed like I had a never ending cold and fever. I had to take meal replacement shakes because eating was so hard.

If your symptoms persist after a doctor visit, you should always follow up with your doctor. You cannot diagnose and treat yourself.

If they've given you tests and there's nothing wrong, have you considered this may be psychological?
HIV is a pretty simple test... either you have it or you dont, they're very unlikely to miss it...
Go talk to another doctor just in case...

Have you been painting, using paint thinners, using cleaning agents, brake fluid, solvents without gloves...exposing these types of things to bare skin?

I would go to webmd.com from there go to there symptom checker. from there it may give to a better idea with what your dealing with. But try a different doctor soon.

Let me know how this works for you.
And I hope I helped.

White blood cell count would be high with mono.
Do you have regular bowel movements? Antibiotics could hurt the flora in your bowels that aid in digestion. This could in turn cause a bad taste in your mouth, coated tongue and pimples around your rear end.
