How can I convince my mom not to make me go to oklahoma?

I don't what to do anymore. I am so trapped. Whenever I get a two weeks vacation, my vacation always has to be Oklahoma. But I don't want to go. I don't want to hear a lot of complaining like I did the last time. Last year I did say this is the last time I ever come to Oklahoma. I was serious. But mom said to me that's crazy that my stepgrandmother wants to see me to. But the reason why is my stepgrandma complains to much when I am there and I don't want to hear it again. I go back in my stepgrandma's room to watch television the shows that I want to watch. But she doesn't want me or anyone else back there. She doesn't want me to move anything of hers anywhere. That is the way she complains a lot. She also complains the way I eat. I just wish that my stepgrandma could quit all the complaining like that. I really want to have the best two weeks ever. But it seems like that I won't. Since this my two vacation. I should have my own vacation in some other state or stay home. I should be allowed to do that without my parents. I am only 30 years.old. I should have that right. I don't have to go to Oklahoma if I don't want to. I don't know what to do anymore. Please someone or anybody help me. I don't want to leave right to Oklahoma in the first place. I really mean it. Help me!! I don't know how to stop myself from going to Oklahoma. I want my two weeks to stay home. I don't know when the last time that happen. I do want my two weeks vacation right at home. What should I do about that? Please somebody help me out. What can I really do?

Some people go through life doing what everyone else expects them to. We think that if we meet everyone else's expectations everything will be ok.

I assume you have a job and work hard. Vacation exists so we can have a break and return to work refreshed. If you dred visiting your relatives in Oklahoma you certainly aren't getting the rest you need.

I agree that family unity is important too. I spend part of my vacation time visiting relatives and some doing other things. Perhaps you can find some balance. Older people can get a bit crotechety and set in their ways. You have to learn to thank them for their concern and move on. Kill them with kindness then do what you want.
