How to write a song?

Ok me and my bff and her bro are starting a band and im supposed to write a song and iw atn to but I dont know how or what to write about so please give me some tips on how to write a great song

first off you need a beat basic beat.then you write the chorus, then verses then add in lead guitars backup vocals and stuff

What kind of song is it? Classic, Hip-hop, Rock, or else?

I think a great song is when the last word on a sentence, rhymes.
