How to trim my money tree

I bought a money tree yesterday and is about 2.5feet what should I do to keep the tree this height?

Cut off the top growth areas and pray the thing doesn't catch anything from the open cut. You could also try bending the branches down to keep it from getting too leggy. Tie off the branches with dental floss.
