I always clean it well and I wash the suds out.. and I...

When I don't have time to wash my hair,I put baby powder in it.It helps take away the greasy appearance and it smells good.

Dear stellaapplemoor,
By the evening my hair is greasy...this has been my dilemma for over 40 years. It is a hormone and a genetic thing. In the long run you will have healthy hair late into life because of this. But right now I understand what a burden it is. If you are scheduled to go someplace special in the evening you need to shower and wash your hair later in the day. Clarifying shampoo is great but can dry it out even with the type of hair you have so use it on those special days. You're right only to condition the ends. Things that heat the hair can bring out the oils too so try to avoid these. If you are out and you are starting to see the grease appear use powder on your hair...I do believe they make special hair powders now. I used to use baby powder when I was young. Just put it on the roots and lightly brush out. It does work for a while.
Sue...good luck

Ohh ok thanks =] I thought heating up your hair would bring out the oils.. therefore it wouldn't be so greasy. Eg: straightening your hair.. which I do quite a lot.

Yess.. it's such a burden! I have long, thick naturally curly hair so it's a complete nightmare and time consuming when I have to wash it, brush it, dry it etc!
And it's only happened quite recently.. within the past few moths.

Damn hormones =P

It just mean that you have large oil glands. Ususally it is more in teens, you know pimpies, yours just happens to be in your hair. Keep doing what you are doing. It should die off one day and if not, then you just have to deal. But don't trip it is apart of you.

train your hair... might sound mad lol but ull pay of in the long run

I had 2 wash my hair everyday, then I gave up and mist a day, then after so long I trained that I could wash my hair every 2/3 days!

Yeah true I dont put conditioner on my roots! plus I think straightening/styling y'hair and products make the oils come out more grrr!

PEACE x

the reason your hair may be so greasy is because you have taught yourself that you need to wash it everyday, doing this means that you are washing out the natural minerals in your hair which help keep it clean. There are now these things called dry shampoo which is like a powder which you then brush out, why not try washing your hair every other day and days when you dont wash use the dry shampoo.

Sometimes greasy hair is cause by eating too much oil in our food. We become addicted to fat; that is why McDonalds is making billions. Pizza and fast foods are big culprits. If you change your diet to contain less fat Im sure you will see a difference.
