How to shrink a sweater .

So , I went shopping today , bought a 70 $ sweater , and its huge on me , I dont want to take it back , because I really like it , but I want it to shrink a bit , its . 80 % cotton , 20 % polyester , so , I might try putting it in the dryer a few times...

around , but im affraid it'll mess it up .

so , I've asked all my friends they dont have a clue , so im asking the world .

help ?

try putting it in the dryer once and see what happened to it. if it didnt shrink enough then put it back in but wait an hour before putting it back in

The store doesn't have a smaller size? You could take it to a tailor shop, see if they can do an alteration.

they didnt have a mediyum , nor a large , small would be to small , so I got a X Large ,
VERY stupid of me , but im goign to try the dryer thing , and tailors , meh , I might .

don't put it in the dryer. put it to soak in the washer for a while in SCALDING HOT WATER! then dry it.

but first, (since in WAS $70), go back and see if they carry a smaller size or if they can order one. you know... before you ruin it.

If I get a sweater thats to big, I take the sides in about a half or a inch with sewing machine...u could do it by had or just pay 20 bucks to have a tailor do so

why dont you take it back and get an exchange instead of washing it so many times that it gets ruin...
