How to remove goo gone residue?

Wow, I have the same question, but haven't found an answer, and nor has anyone replied to your question from 3YEARS AGO...WOW! please let me know if you found the answer to this one. I removed blue masking tape off of furniture after 2 years in storage, but am having lots of trouble taking the tape off, then the goo off, and now the goo gone off, it seems to have left stains on the wood. I even tried the bathroom bubbles cleaner thing, which helped, but it left stains in other areas...
