How do i go on without ever catching a break?

chillin2 Asked by angies123 over 2 years ago, 2 answers.

well to understand my question you need to know the back story...
about 3 1/2 years ago my mom died suddenly and it was at a pretty transitional time in my life (1 week before senior prom, 2 weeks before high school graduation, 3 months before moving 400...

miles away to college...) anyway 4 months later my dad started dated, a year after her death he moved to middleOFnowhere, Tennessee (im from Chicago), he remarried within a year of my moms death, then 1 year later had to drop out of college because I couldnt pay and couldnt get my grades up (I was striaght A student in HS) then my dad kicked me out becuase I couldnt get alone with his new wife. so with a full tank of gas and no money so I moved back to Chicago and have been struggling from living in my car to long periods of unemployment and just when I finally got it all together and had my great job. boom- I get fired with no explaination...and that was 2 months ago. im so fuc*ed up from the last three years its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. im so depressed and need to know how to not feel like giving up every day of my life.
my whole life since then has been downhill. I just cant seem to catch a break.

Well, I've been bankrupt. Twice. With a kid to buy food for (which I couldn't) and couldn't find a job either.

There are agencies - tons of them - that will help you out if you need it. Get help from those social services agencies, and focus on what you want out of life.

JK Rowling made up the Harry Potter stories while commuting with her son, while she was on the UK equivalent of welfare. She's now the richest woman in the world. wink You're younger than she is, and don't have a child. So, if you want it bad enough, dream your biggest dream don't stop till you get there.

Dear angies123,
First get a hold of your local health clinic and make an appointment with a counsellor. You're right when we are depressed we tend to see things as helpless and hopless when that isn't the case but because of our faulty thinking we do see it any other way.
Well a workplace cannot fire you for no reasons...they had their reasons and I suggest you find out. This can prepare you for your next job in what not to do list.
Sorry to hear about your mother and that you don't like your step-mother but we choose who we get along with. You chose to argue with her and you chose how you reacted to her if she was arguing with you. You are not alone with your life struggles, I myself was living in a woman's shelter and you could have sought a halfway home or shelter as well. As in Canada finding employment is rather easy, especially if you seek out places like restaurants, McDonald's etc. Without counselling I'm not sure you will understand that life is what you make it means but the opportunities are there for you, you need to go get them.
Sue...good luck
