How to go from brunnette to blonde?

Pinkcc19 Asked by pinkcc19 about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

Has anybody used the new loreal Dream Blonde complete color and care system in extra light blonde 11? My natural haircolor is a dark brown and I want to try this but I am scared my hair is going to turn orange...

umm if you do it your hair might turn orange. but make sure that you bleech your hair. So go to a hair solon and buy the stuff to bleach it so you can prevent it from turning orange

I have come to the conclusion that no matter what the box says, if you start with dark brown hair, your hair will not change to a beautiful blonde in one application, no matter what the box says! if you leave it on for the 60 minutes max time, your hair will be a gingery/yellow/orange. leaving it on longer will lighten it more but you do risk totally frying your hair. I have naturally very dark brown hair. I used loreal super blonde, which shows before and after pics of dark hair like mine, and a results pic of gorgeous blonde hair. and like I said, it is a ginger/yellow color. I was a dummy and researched after bleaching my hair. what I found out was that the stuff in a box is not strong enough. best bet for dark hair is to go to sallys and purchase powder bleach and a creme developer at least 40 volume. and pretty much count on having to do it more than once. thats what im doing.

I would get it dyed professionaly. Box dyes tend to look a bit trashy when changing colors drastically.

If I were you I wouldent change your whole hair color. If you want some change then try getting highlights at a Solon. Thats what I did. But I've heard that brunettes are the new blond. And remember that once you change it its not going to change for a long while. I personnaly dont trust the from-the-box things but its your choice. I just think that even if you get it done professionally and dont like the color then at least they still look pro.
