How to get synthesis items in kingdom hearts 2?

Most of them you get from defeating heartless. The only ones you don't get from them are mythril pieces and orichalum. Those you have to find. The crystals you have to get from bigger heartless, like wizards, wyrven, defenders, and dark ball. You can find them everywhere after your first trip through hollow bastion.
