well a perm is a chemical and any type of chemical that changes sumthing from its natural state can be harmful.but if you do decide to get one make sure you let someone put it in who knows what there doing,and try not to get them very often.I've been getting relaxers for a while now so I know how that situation goes,and thankfully I still have my hair on my head ,so I say if you feel you need it go for it.

You can definately mess up your hair by perming it yourself! A perm uses a lot of HARSH chemicals to rebuild your hair structure and to make it curly. If you do it wrong, you can risk all your hair falling out! it takes a certain amount of time, heat and also you have to use the right chemical for your type of hair. If you really want a perm, I would suggest going to the salon and getting it done professionally.
