How to be more selfless and less egotistical

the sky and sun amazing things Asked by cambei 13 days ago, 2 answers.

Anyways my whole life I've been complimented on my writing or acting or the music I write. It's great and all but I have this fear I'll be egotistical. An ex friend of mine is saying I am egotistical and I'm afraid the compliments finally got to my head....

Ahh!! I really truly want to help people and be nice but if I'm equally self-centered that's not good sad
I want to know some ways to avoid becoming egotistical if I am not, or to end my self-centered thoughts. I mean, look who I'm talking about right now, gee what a surprise -_-

You cannot keep what you don't give away. Since others have acknowledged the gifts abilities you possess...writing, music...acting. You in turn could acknowledge the gifts that others have...be sincere when you do it.

Do something nice for someone anonymously...Volunteer work can be humbling, too...

The fact that you're asking tells me that you're probably not as self-centered as you think you are.

I'd start just saying thank you and then mentioning someone else who did not as good, and say that they did a good job.
