How do I ask him to marry me?

I want to ask my boyfriend of six years to marry me today but I don't know what to say or do. I live in Chicago and right now it's cold and snowing so is kind of difficult to do something. Maybe some one could help me or give me ideas please? Thank you.

Maybe go out to dinner, or simply have a romantic night at home, fill the place with candles and rose petals so when he gets home he is surprised and just ask him.

I would wait because.no offense I think its wierd when a girl ask a man out who knows he might b egetting ready to ask u!
