How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?

There are 3 jurisdictions in the USA that DO NOT have any laws for minimum age for a tattoo. Those places are North Dakota, New Mexico, and Washington, DC.

well theres a girl in my year (im 14) who has a tattoo on her wrist, i think it depends on te location and the standards ofthe tatto parlour, cause i kno oher girls with tattos on their hands in the year above me

people are saying different things.Some are saying you have to be 18,some people are saying you can be younger then 18.I am 13 years old and I am planning on getting one soon and my mom said it isint illegal to get one under the age of 18.But I think if you are under 18 you have to have a parent or guradian with you.

In most places, you must be 18. Otherwise, you need parental permission, and often the form with permission must be notarized.

In the Uk its 18 and some will ask for proof of age. Any tattooist that tattoos under the age of 18 is not a professional and can be prosecuted. My own tattoist won’t even tattoo under 18 with parental permission.
