My parents didn’t allow me to get a job until I was 16. How many of you aren’t allowed jobs? What is your parents’ reasoning?

Usually state laws and such prohibit the younger folk from getting a job. Each state and county has different laws governing child labor practices. You should check into the particulars for your area.
