How long does it take for a msn messenger and hotmail account to be delete?

it says that if you DO NOT touch the account for 3 months, it will automaticaly delete. I have tried it and it DOES work. However, there is a catch.
If for some weird reason, you want to go back into that account after the 3 months, you can but all your saved addresses and read e-mails will not be there anymore.
