It depends on the rate of adaptation to your body. If you're lifting the same weights over and over again you're not going to get any muscle MASS, but you will get muscle strength. (very big difference between them) However if you move on once you get some muscles strength to something difficult to lift you might gain a bit more muscle mass. After you get the muscle strength to lift it up with about 1/5 less effort move onto something heavier. BUT DON'T OVER DO IT!
