How far would i have to walk?

Im trying to lose weight and aparentley it's recommended that you have to walk 10,000 steps a day, but how far would I have to walk. As I dont have a stepometre to measure in steps

10,000 steps would be about 5 miles or so for most people, which is the distance typically recommended for weight loss.

Get a pedometer of whatever they're called, I'm sure you can get one for like a tenner from argos or that chemist type shop, Boots? :S Because you will never be able to measure it otherwise, you walk lots throughout the day doing your normal things. I'm sure walking a lot is good for weightloss but I personally would advise you to focus on diet/exercise that gets your heart racing and you out of breath for health and fitness.
