How do you play video games?

I've been into games for a while and I tend to just buy a game, play it pretty much non-stop until I complete it, and then never play it again for a long time...and I was wondering, how do you guys play video games? I'm probably gonna take a break for a...

few weeks and when I come back to my xbox360 I will play games less and take my time with them. But I'm open to other suggestions so just post what you find is the most enjoyable way to play video games.

That's just a fact of being young, unfortunately. I had the same problem at your age with my NES, scrimping and saving to buy a game only to have it go stale after two weeks. Once you get out into the world and make some money, it's much less of an issue. You know all those fanboy wars on the forums screaming about which is better, Xbox or PS3? We 30-somethings look at those arguments and wonder, They're both good. Why not buy both?

I play most games the same way (except the GTA titles, theyre too darn long to play in one sitting)

yeah so I finished RE4 in 3 hours and a half when I first got it... DMC 3 in about 3 and a half... and pretty much every game that holds my attention I play through very fast...I get addicted to completing it...

I buy one, play it a little bit, and depending on how I like it sometimes I'll go 10-12+ hours playing it in a day for a few days in a row when I'm not in school. I kinda do it in binges...

I think that's just the nature of the medium. For many years, I rented games because of this since most games can be beaten over the course of a weekend. These days, I only buy games where I know I'm going to get at least 40 hours of play out of them, either in the main gameplay or through multiplayer. This means I miss out on a lot of games that look fun but short, like the new PoP, but you get more game for the buck.
