How do you drive a stickshift and is it hard?

ok so I get my first car this weekend (God help whoever walks on the sidewalk) and it's a 1993 Ford Ranger (great condition!) but it has a manual transmission. help?

lol! well I dont know what to tell u! explaining to some one how to drive a Manuel over the internet is about as easy as telling the astronauts how to launch under water... : / right then
my camaro is a Manuel, and I love it! but I learned on a old chevy 5spd pickup, just start by getting a feel for the clutch, so put it in 1st, then rev the truck up some, enough that it doesn't stall but not so much that it sounds like a 747 taking off, then slowly let the clutch out, when you feel the truck start to idel down and move forward that is where your clutch engages the gear, and you continue to let it out slowly until the pedal doesn't move any more. to shift through the next 4 gears, you just push the clutch in and move the shifter into the gear you want and move your foot off the clutch quickly! thats all I can really tell ya, hell if you lived in CT id show you myself xD

It's not hard but I guess it'll take a while to get used to.

As you're driving take your foot off the accelerator (steadily), hand on gear stick, press down the clutch, select the gear you want, foot off the clutch (not too quickly), foot back on to the accelerator. It's not hard but I guess it'll take a while to get used to.

When you're first starting off press down the clutch, put yourself into first gear, foot slowly off the clutch until 'you find the bite', press the accelerator. Off you go.

I guess you could do with someone instructing you, or it might be a bit of a disaster happy
