Changing a flat tire:
1) If you're driving when it happens, pull over, slow down, and put on your emergency blinkers.
2) Once you're pulled over safely to the side of the road, walk around the curb side of the vehicle to the trunk (don't walk on the freeway / highway side, bad idea).
3) open trunk & remove both the tire and the jack that came with the car, you might need a wrench to do this, so it's best to keep a small set of generic tools in the trunk in case of emergencies, including a flashlight, etc.
4) Jack up the car at the appropriate spot underneath, there will be a groove that you can feel under the car where you should put the jack. Make sure you place it between the two grooves, as usually that's the place it belongs. When in doubt, consult the owners manual.
5) When the car is off the ground, loosen the lug nuts, one at a time, leaving the one at the top for last else it'll be a pain to get off the wheel.
6) Put the new tire on, tighten, and then replace old tire in the trunk.
7) lower the car, replace jack & other hardware, and drive to a place that sells tires, etc, for a replacement. If there isn't a store like that handy, wait till the following day to do so, and don't drive the car any more than you absolutely have to, as spare tires are never as good as real ones.
Hope that helps...anybody, let me know or add to this if I've missed anything.
Best,
thedude

How do you change a flat tire?
How do you change a flat tire? I always have someone else do it for me. I think it's about time I learnt for myself.
