How do you apply foundation?

I'm sooo pissed as you can see. EVERY TIME I apply foundation, my face is both Caked -on or REALLY Flaky ALL Over!!
Help!

What am I doing Wrong??

My Face colour is Fair. And I apply it with a Q-Tip.

Hi,

Select a foundation that is appropriate to your skin type and the coverage you wish to achieve. The color should match your skin, disappearing when blended well.

Blend out to your hair and jawline until the foundation vanishes. Pay special attention to blending around the nose, mouth and jawline.

If you're finding that the foundation looks caked on, you may be using too much or the wrong type: try using different powders and liquids before finding the perfect one for you.

i agree with ^^^ after puttin foundation on put a powder on i bought a NYC smoothing power and it was only 2.99 and it looks really good

i mix my foundation with a little moisturiser in my hand and apply it with fingertips or a sponge, it works really well and blends in nicely, try usinfg a powder over the top for a matt finish. i love the australis pressed powder!
