I am not entirely sure, but I do think this is particaly correct. Warm blooded animals are mamals which means they produce milk for there young. However cold blooded animals such as reptiles do not.
I know there is another fact that I am missing such as cold blooded animals CAN or CAN NOT keep there body tempurature to the tempurature needed so they need to live in places where they tempurature is perfect for them, BUT I'M NOT SURE.
warm blooded animals are mammals, such as a dog, or a horse. cold blooded animals are those which cannot live in temperatures too cold for them, such as turtles, snakes, and alligators. this is why they bask in the sun. think about it: have you ever seen a horse sit on a log to keep warm?
These are defunct terms which are now referred to as endotherms (warm blooded) and ectotherms (cold blooded).
If you notice therms as in thermometer as in temperature or heat
and endo as in inside and ecto as in outside therefore this is the most fundamental difference
Whereas warm-blooded animals would use their own body mechanisms (primarily more # of mitochondria to generate energy) to produce heat and maintain body temperature and
Cold blooded animals would use outside situations/sources to maintain temperatures inside their body, like snakes and lizards basking in the sun (as mentioned above).
