How do I stop my cat?

Every night I let my cat in my room and close the door. He goes to the food bowl and a few minutes later he wants out. He will scratch at the carpet and ill yell at him and hell stop. Then a second later he'll scratch at the door claws and all. Ill get...

the spray bottle out and spray him. But it doesnt bother him. He'll run right toward the water and play with the water. Not too long after I distract him hell go right back at it!
I finally get out of bed and let him out.
About two hours later he's right out side my door wanting back in! He'll tear the carpet and he'll scratch the door for an hour! I mean there's nothing going on inside or outside of my door!

Please help me! What do I do?

lol cats dont like closed doors... He's learnt that if keeps scratching you'll eventually let him in. Keep the food outside your door and just ignore him. Either that or leave the door open... Not much you can do other than that...

Try cracking the door a little bit. That way he can come in & go out whenever he wants.

depending on yhe age of the cat this behavior could be trained out of him like ty and prettycool said cats dont like closed doors but if that is his room then leaving the door open is the way to go cats usually like to run around at night when they have the house to themselves so either leave door open or ignore him and eventually he will learn that nihgttime is bedtime and your not going to get up to accomodate him have fun!

your could try installing a tiny pet door in your door.

my cat does exactly the same thing the first guy was right cats dont like closed doors my cat will scratch at the door and not even come in he just wants 2 know the door is open.
