How do i sing screamo?

how do I sing screamo like the alesana band are doin??

screamo sounds really awesome when done right. my advice to you is just practice. you won't sound EXACTLY like them. everybody who does screamo has their own unique(sp? oh well if so I don't really care if I don't spell something right) sound. just try to start out by testing different sounds and such... low, loud, in between. each should have a different sound. DON'T PUSH YOURSELF. if your throat starts hurting or your voice starts slipping STOP. don't risk hurting your vocal chords. keep a drink like water, pop or whatever you drink, handy that way you can get a drink in between screaming. get a drink before, in between and after. don't try to be something your not either. if you don't get it, don't worry. maybe you will some other time. hope this helped

First of all, get the HELL OUT OF SCREAMO.

If j00 like it go ahead, but listen to some deathcore,grind, and other more heavier stuff.

Here are a couple things that'll help you out, since you really can't teach a person how to do it.

1) Actually learn how to sing, it'll set down the framework.

2)It should feel wierd at first

3) When you first start, do it every day for a couple weeks, otherwise your voice won't get used to it.

4) IT SHOULDN'T HURT

5) Plenty of water, warm water is best, do not drink cold.

6) Use your stomach/Diaphragm

7)Try the old work your way into it trick. This is how I learned how to do highs.
Start off saying a fairly long sentence, that you can say in one breath. Example. I want to eat your dog dude

Start off speaking normally. Keep repeating the sentence, getting louder everytime you repeat until you get the noise.

Watch out though, soda is WRONG. It'll kill your throat. YOu want to stick with water, and water only. No gatorade, just water.

It'll help to scream along constantly with your favorite song, but don't TRY to sound like the guys voice. Chances are, you're in a completely different vocal range, and you'll just screwing up your voice.

there's more to it than just screaming. you have to know HOW to do it and what things to do... or else you'll f*ck up your vocal cords are sh*t. that wouldn't be too fun now would it?
and yes ignore them stupid asses who are bashing your music. screamo is very good when done correctly.
just follow my advice and some of the others advice and you should be fine. but like I *and some others I do believe?* have said... if it hurts... STOP. don't ever push yourself or else you'll cause damage to your throat/vocal cords and then you'll really be wishin you hadn't of pushed it huh?

Yeah, honestly, just don't push yourself, because you CAN hurt yourself... Try some kind of traditional singing first, then once you get the basics, try the screamo stuff, but remmber this: NOT EVERYBODY CAN. Some people's voices are better for doing screamo and deathcore than others.

Take it slow, and just sort of test the grounds before you try to do the advanced stuff.

yes ariadaoftheflesh is right... not EVERYBODY can do screamo. some people's voices just aren't right for it. you shouldn't really have problems if you know what your doing. if it hurts, it means you can't and you need to stop. just practice with some different singing and work up to some basics of screaming then maybe try some of the deeper types of screaming.
