How do i put in a tampon?

How do I put in a tampon? because I got my period and I have swim practice tomarow. I tried putting one in but it wouldnt go in and it hurt really bad.

Depending what part of the world you are from you can purchase a small bottle of Vagisil - 'Intimate Moisturiser Clear Lotion' (in Australia) which helps with lubrication or just buy good old fashioned lube it will help if put on the tampon or on you!

This may sound weird, but try putting it in with a mirror in front of you so you can see what you're doing. Try putting it in at a 45 degree angle . . . If it hurts putting it in then use a thin tampon. I recommend using Playtex sport tampons. They are really comfortable

I was having problems with tampons,
and I hate wearing pads because their very un-comfortable.
