How do i make my own park on roller coaster tycoon?

I have the first one and I want to know how to make my own park with all flat lands..thank you!

There should be little buttons on the bottom (I only played it on my DS so it was on the lower screen) that has buttons for fences, the ground, and pathways. By clicking on these boxes you can place each thing where you want, making your park.
