How do i make my hair look thicker?

all smiles Asked by mirra about 1 year ago, 20 answers.

I have very very thin hair, so when I wear my hair down, it looks really flat, even if I curl it and stuff, it still looks flat. I dont want to use extensions, so do you know how to make your hair look heavier or thicker?? without weaves or extensions...

!!

not layers!
If you have thin hair... Layers are the worst thing...
They get stringy and stuff...

I have very thick hair... And I wish it were thinner... Be thankful.

I do love my hair, its thin and straight. but sometimes I just look hideous when its all flat.. I dont want to cut my hair, cz im growing them right now, but if I have loner hair, will that make it worse?? cz I love to curl it sometimes, to make it look like it has volume !

Sometimes longer hair does make it look thinner.
But Thin hair is in... If you know how to handle it.

ok, blow drying you hair to achieve volume will just end up damaging you hair more than its doing you any good, try a volumizing shampoo, creme, or mousse. If all else fails brush your hair with a brush containing boar hair (can be purchases at Rite Aid etc.) if you want something that will help your hair in the long run, ingredients called Nioxin and Biotin are things to look for because they actually help your hair GROW thicker instead of just making it look thicker.

mirra,
There are different shampoos you can get that are out there that help with volumiseing and stuff like that. Herbal Essences has a great line of products including shampoos and conditioners for it. You should look into it.

Try a thickening elixer (I worked at a Professional beauty salon for 2 years) and even using a thickening shampoo will make a difference believe it or not. When you blow dry your hair, turn your head upside down. When you flip back over to dry the rest, if you are using a brush, brush pulling your hair UP and not down. ALSO!: A great trick I used was actually putting a creme for curly hair in my hair before I blow dried- it might feel really coarse, but it might work for you(Not hair gel, but something like Curls Rock from TIGI). Also make sure the ends of you hair aren't dead as that could be weighing your hair down!

one way you should do I blow dry your hair down wards. it sounds wierd but I dont really know how to explain it. like have your head faced down and blow dry your hair on the back. so when your hair is dry you lift your hair ack up you will have hella volume. =] I have really really think hair too girl so its all good. and you should use pantene pro v shampoo they give hella volume exspecially after you blow dry it from the bottum. email me and see if I works! I want to know how you did! it feels good to know someone else has hair lke me bc all my girl friends have really long thick hair =[ haha love!

Hi this is what you can do put layers in your hair and you can use paul mitchell's thicken up this will thicken your hair up na bit put about 3-4 pumps in and blow dry your hair. and as your blow drying you can all so use the paul mitchell's extra-body daily boost root lifter.
You can get them from any salon that sells paul mitchell. Trust me they work I am a
licensed cosmetologist my shop sells them for $13.00. They work good luck let me know if you try them I love them and use them

Mirra, you might want to invest in good products. Loved the post.

well my hair is very very thin too.
what I do is first of all dont blow drie your hair unless your actualy going somewhere because the heat is damaging.
but when you do blowdry it I would flip your head over ...
although it sometimes makes ue hair frizzy it gives it tons of volume
pantene pro v is amazing with giving volume and it smells delicous=D
but when you curl your hair make sure you use a meduim size curler and make sure all the curls stay intact..because if you brush through them they tend to fall out a lot easier.make sure you use hair spray that way the curls dont fall out
