How do i learn not to walk??

me sleeping Asked by nikki_d_09 over 3 years ago, 3 answers.

I've had two boyfriends, like serious, kinda. my first was treated me great, things just went wrong. the second one didn't! he would tell me that he didn't blame my mom for giving me up, and stuff like that about my rents givin' me up and verbally abused...

me. I'm adopted but I have a great family, and home don't get my wrong. I've met my birth mom and I feel like she lies to me all the time! So with past guys I kinda walk out so I don't get hurt. its kinda like I always walk. I walk before other people can walk out on me and hurt me. so I leave likin' them insead of hatin'. so I'm starting a relationship again and I really really like this guy. how do I keep my self from walking out and learn that everyone's not going to hurt me??

This is something a lot of people do hun. I have it to... This happens
normally because someone or maybe something... in your life that is important, may it be a
relative, friend, dog, cat, bird, or anything of importance was lost by
you. And thus you have a hard time getting close to something, because
you have the feeling that when you do it will be pushed away from you
without your control, look at it like a defense mechinizim. I have done
this many of times, before I realised it, and the reason why it happend
to me, is because My mom got married, put my dog to sleep because her
husband had a dog already, and didn't tell me, lost a girl I liked a lot
at the time (broke up), my grandparents kind of pushed me away because I am was bad
at school, because i have concentration issues and they thought it was
because i wasnt trying etc...

You just have to understand that you
will try and find things wrong with people just so you can push them
away so you don't get hurt again, even one of my best guy friends does
it to me sometimes, he will start things that get under my skin, and he
lost his mom (kind of) and well you just have to know its going to
happen, you may eventually want to get counceling and talk to someone
about it, because it may continue. Just remember to concentrate on the good things and don't try and dig for things that you think are wrong. Now this doesn't mean let a guy get away with being abusive... it just means don't find every little thing and break up with him because of that...

Hope that helps
Jason
