How do I know if he's sincere?

So I recently started seeing this guy who I went to college with, he has never had a serious girlfriend and I was with a guy for 8 years off and on. We initially started sleeping together, but later developed a closer bond.(A mutual friend told me she thinks I was his first) At first he didn;t want to get close because he lives in another state and would be going home after college, but over christmas break when we were home we talked on MSN everyday and his brothers fiance told me hes talked to his family about me. Now he's gone home to student teach and we are closer then ever. I am flying there to see him for spring break, I am just scared of getting hurt and don't know whether to really pursue this, I would talk to him about it, but I'm shy although I know he has feelings for me, just the distance thing worries me. I'll be graduating in Demember and he'll be done. How do I know if he's sincere? Is it worth pursuing being we'd have to be apart for quite a few months? Would I be stupid to throw away a possible soul mate because I'm scared? any thoughts?

follow what your heart tells you if you really think that he is your soul mate then you go for it and you put all your heart and soul in to it but if you are doubting this dont do it love burnsey xx :-D

Love is never a mistake, even if it doesn't work out, as long as you're mature about it. I can tell you this though, if you were "his first", and he has stuck with you faithfully so far, I think he's probably yours forever if you treat him well. What do you want? What are you willing to give in order to get it? My hunch is that everything is going to be OK with you two, and you should relish the romance and not worry!
