How do I get people to take me seriously?

im just sick of people thinking im an idiot. And im sooo sick of guys just seeing me as a piece of as$. I just dont get it, im 15 and im taking 4 honors classes and I can keep a 4.2 gpa, I even wear reading glasses lol. And its not like im a slut or anything, I dont really wear mini skirts or anything like that. I party a lot but no more than any of my friends do, and people dont think that they're trashy, just me. I dont act ditzy or flirt with a million guys, so why cant people see that im an intelligent person?

I don't think you are being completely honest with yourself. People treat you how you let them and how your perceive yourself makes a difference. Are you wearing reading glasses as a fashion statement? It sounds like it from your question.

If you don't take yourself seriously, others will not either. Are you keeping the high grade point average and taking the honor classes to prove something to other people? Maybe if people knew you are working very hard in school because you are securing a future for yourself, they would be more apt to take you seriously. People are not idiots. We react to others based upon the signal they send out. You can change other's opinions about you, but it starts with you. Separate your school from your social life.

I take myself very seriously, and I wish others would too. and the statement you wrote about securing myself a future, well what other reasons are there for taking honors classes? its not like im taking them for fun or anything.

The other reason you might be taking those honor classes is to PROVE to the world you are not just another dumb blonde! Here's the deal, you may be trying very hard to show people you are not stupid with your cute reading glasses and your high GPA. My father taught me this; It doesn't matter what it takes for someone to get there, it matters what they do with it when they get there. My dad was referring to AA, but it can applied elsewhere. Even if your motives for applying your intelligence are not entirely about YOU yet, what you do with the knowledge you acquire is what's important. Stop worrying about what everyone thinks about you. You are doing what you need to do. Once people realize that you don't care what they think about you, they may start to take you a bit more seriously.

ok so I really appreciate your feedback, I really do, but I think youre over annalyzing this whole question, I mean hi im not taking them to prove ANYTHING! and please stop with the glassses thing, I actually need them to read and people always call me a dork when I wear them. thats the only reason I brought it up. but my question is, that even though I THINK IM SERIOUS, WHY CANT OTHER PEOPLE SEE IT?
