How do I get my lip piercing out help needed right now

I got my lip pierced on tuesday & I cleaned it like I was told but the back is like swallowing my piercing. Its really swollen & I can only see a bit of the stud at the back. It wont twist out & im really scared please help me get it out

Don’t take it out. Taking out a piercing that may possibly be infected or healing isn’t a good idea because after the stud is removed, skin will heal over and trap any infectious bacteria inside and cause more problems.

Just keep cleaning it and doing salt water soaks (if you don’t know how to do those, essentially it’s just 1/4 tsp sea salt to 1cup of water on your piercing for 5-10 minutes). It’s also best if you don’t touch it so much, as dirt from your hands and unnecessary fiddling will further irritate it. With studs it’s normal for the fistula (the skin tube that forms around the stud) to loosen and “swallow” a piece of jewelery; this is part of healing. It’s also normal to have swelling a couple days after getting a piercing, you may also see some slight bruising. Salt soaks will help with that.

Like I said, DO NOT remove the piercing. You WILL get an infection because it is NOT HEALED.

It is SWOLLEN, which is why you may think it’s too short.

the ball or what ever you have at the front should screw off so just do that, then push really hard on it and it should come out the back, but if you take it out completley your at risk of infection, but get to your piercer as soon as you can!

I just need to take it out I cant deal with the pain anymore I dunno how to even get it out. like I dunno does it twist or what I just need it out of there

u might wannna go to the doctor or the hospital…it’s nothing drastic just you dont want it to gwt worse b/c it is infected

ahhh my old nose piercin like literally got eatin lol by those keloid things and the bump went over the peircin and I had to go to the hospital and they were gunna use these sizzors and I freakeddd !! lol finally they just put stuff the busted it open and removed my piercin. butt deff soak it in hott water. not steamin water but hott, it helps. and also try not to touch it a lot and try not to rub it against your teeth/tongue as much as you can

Honestly don’t listen to nero thats bad advice in this case…

Go to your piercer right away! I had this happen to me a few months ago…

They’ll change it for you…

The reason why its doing it is because the post is too small… They’ll just take it out and give you a longer on no problem!

If you wait too long and you lip does swallow the piercing you’ll have to have it surgically removed…

Right, thanks for helping everyone. The next day I went back to the piercers and got it changed to a bigger bar. Its fine now(: thanks so much.

When a piercing is swollen it doesn’t SWALLOW IT!

If she doesn’t get the back out of her lip, shes just gonna have to get it surgically removed!

Even so having to take it out completely is better then leaving it in at this point!
