How do I get my hair to be neat?

I have really messy hair. I like how it looks, only its uncomfortable, because it's so knotty and tangly. Whenever I brush my hair, it always looks flat, and I never like how I look. How can I make my hair not look that way, while it's still neat?

you could try hair detangler then brush it through ... and then what ever you want I have the same problem
