How do i get a virus off my comp?

can I defragment the hard drive and do a disk cleanup? would that help? any ideas???

 
Defrag and Disk Cleanup won't help. They do, however, help speed things up if your computer is a little slow. But, I wouldn't do either one until you get rid of the virus.

You should have a good anti-virus program that you run at least once a week (daily if other people use your computer or you do a lot of browsing and downloading on the net).

You should also have a good spyware program which you should run at least once a week.

You should also have a good Registry Cleaner program which you should run at least once a week.

I use all of the programs listed below. Besides being good programs, and FREE, you also have the ability to continue working on your computer (online or offline) while the program is running.

to get virus off you need to run a virus scan and then they usually delete them

or you can take it to a computer place and theyll do it for you

I had to do that with mine and it ended up, I had like 50 viruses!!
haha :D

Scan your pc with and antivirus and then you have to delete the files which are infected.

The anti virus like norton or AVG would work best.
