How can i stop being jealous of people on vacation?

friends are talking about going on all these big vacations or las vegas and florida and boston and new york and i feel soo left out and sad because our family doesnt get to do that stuff, ever.

When I was younger and lived at home, my family was on a very tight budget like yours. We had a big family and my parents did the best they could to keep us fed, healthy, and happy, with a roof over our heads. My friends, who all came from smaller families, all went on big expensive trips while we stayed home or maybe got to go camping. I never went to Disneyland once. It was hard to not be jealous, and I was. But I realized that even though I didn't get to go on big fancy vacations, I had a family that loved me, which made me better off than alot of kids out there. Take some time to count your blessings, think about everything you DO have, and be thankful for those things. Because you could have nothing in the whole wide world, there are kids out there that don't. Find other ways to spend your time doing things that make you happy. Read good books, watch movies, spend time with your friends, play sports, volunteer at your local animal shelter, anything. Life isn't about how much money you have or what vacations you get to go on. It's about how you spend your time and with who. It doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing.
