go to http://filehippo.com

download dvdshrink and imageburn.

use dvdshrink to save the dvd as an ISO file.

use imageburn to burn the ISO back to blank dvd.

*note - there are dvd's that can't be decoded. If you get a cyclic redundancy error or other errors associated with the ripping process try another dvd produced by a different company.

Also ensure you have enough free disk space to write the large ISO usually about 5Gb.

Or you can play the iso file by downloading Deamon tools. This software will create virtual cd/dvd drives. Just mount the iso into a virtual dvd drive and play it like it was loaded into a physical drive.

good luck!

1st...

* Place your original DVD in the drive
* Launch DVD shrink
* After the initial scan of the DVD select the root folder in the left hand pane. Uncheck any languages that you wont need (this will improve the dvd'd video quality.
* Run the backup option.

2nd...

* Launch Image Burn
* In modes choose Write Image File To Disc

Let me know if that does it for you.
