How do you cope with your boyfriend's unpleasant mother?

My boyfriend's mom has mixed feelings about me, its like one minute she's cool with me and then she wants him to break up with me I don't get it! We have our arguments like any other couples, along with the good times. I respect her and I would like to get to know how to deal with her? So have you as significant other dealt/dealing with the issue(s)?

First of all the biggest mistake is for your boyfriend to tell his mother about any arguments or problems that the two of you have. You see she will only know that part of it and will not know how the two of you settle your disagreements and make up. Also he should not bet telling you how his mother feels about you. This is between them and telling you is only hurtful an unnecessary. Your best way to deal with her is to sit with her and get to know more about her. The responsibility to handle mom is your boyfriends...the rule is your family you deal with them. That goes for you to.

I completely understand what your saying like if my boyfriend goes in the bathroom shes like wheres my baby I say o in the bathroom and shes like well what s he doing in there stuff like that we have been together for 5 1/2 years and she still says little things to me I cant stand it. she lets him stay home all day don't work, clean, go to school smokes and drinks she want to make him as comfortable as possible because shes lonely shes still in love with his dad they separated 19 years ago and shes going to make my boyfriends life as comfortable as possible so he doesn't go anywhere I know she cant stand for him to have another woman in his life that he loves and respects and also influences him to do things shes so jealous and insecure its gross!!! I cant wait for the day we leave los angeles and move the hell out of here and to another state it will be one of the best days she will have a break down and might hire a spy just so she can make sure I flod his laundry the correct way or make him the right amount of food ugh please he loves my food I know what my man likes I wish I could tell her to get to steppin!!
