If you ride horses and wear tampons there is a good chance of it been a least slightly torn or stretched. The hymen doesn't completely block the vagina (it can be porous or have a hole in the middle) but if you were born with a hymen and that it is intact then you should see and feel it.
Some girls are born without a hymen or tear or stretch it little by little without noticing. Others feel a sharp pain when it is torn and can even bleed.
