How can I grow my hair to the middle of my back?

I want to grow my hair to atleast the middle of my bck. What can I do to promote a healthy growth while my hair grows longer? Is it necessary to get my hair trimmed every 4 weeks or can I go longer between trims?

You can go 4-8 weeks, but you HAVE to trim the ends off so it can grow faster.
