How can I find a girlfriend online?

I mean, not just a girlfriend, just a friend is fine. I seem to have ran out of methods to try, or the ones I used to try don't work anyone. Such as IMs, etc. I just can't find anyone to talk to any more, and I'm pretty lonely. Is there any easy way I can start to make friends? I mean friends that I can talk to A LOT online and actually share my personal feelings with as well. Not a "buddy", but an actual friend or girl friend. Where to start? Thank you.

ok I don't know b/c I have the same problem!!! no one talks to me any more either.. so I give up!!
