How can i download torrents through phone?

this is my situation.. I am planning to buy a computer.. laptop is portable..but online reviews say laptops wont match desktops for gaming.so I am getting a desktop... and I download stuff from net through torrents with my college's free wifi. but since...

I will not be able to carry a desktop..is it possible to buy a wifi phone and download torrents to its hard drive and then later transfer to my computer back home..can the iphone do it? pls give me ideas. or pls tell me if you own a gaming laptop that plays all the latest games around without giving system requirements error.

No. You'll have a hard time finding a phone that even _has_ a hard drive, and at the rates carriers charge for mobile data, well, let's just say that you'd better have a house to mortgage. Why would you want to do this anyway?

I take it this is a follow-up question to your gaming computer one. If you were able to find a phone that latches onto a wifi network, then you'd be onto something since your campus has free Wifi access, and wouldn't need to worry about mobile data transfer rates (so long as you had a USB connection on your phone or wifi on your desktop to transfer the downloads from your phone to the computer), and had decent sized storage on your device.

I'm not too familiar with the iPhone, but although its got wifi and can surf the net with a (supposedly) fully functional browser, it would appear that it (and the Safari browser on the iPod Touch, which also has wifi) doesn't let you download any sort of files, which means its not suitable for what you want of it. At this stage I don't know of anything (cellphone or otherwise) that would have the capability your require other than a computer laptop, but give it a few years and I'm sure we'll see a product with the desired capability easily available.

Until then, if you have access to computers on campus, it might be cheaper and more practical in the meantime to download stuff on them, and transfer files onto a portable hard drive instead. Or else get a laptop and accept that you might not be able to play all the latest games, or games that come out in the future. Or you could buy an old second hand laptop with wifi just for downloading stuff.

Well symbian os phones has an app that can downl;oad torrents..I havent used it...try googling

OK the guy above gave a great answer. I deeply agree exept...There are many laptops you can play games without issues like a Alien ware brand laptop all they do is build them for gaming. Or you could go expensive and shitty and buy a Dell Xps But they fry quick. OR you could just buy a Netgear Wireless USB port. It basicly looks like a memory stick but
It lets you pick up wireless signals just as a laptop would. They only cost $70 and there realy handy. So thats your best bet. Email me with questions in the future . Fun mail me
