I washed my mouth out with listrine a lot..some people say that there tongue can turn green when they wash it out... but never did for me.. what the hell!!?? cancer and tongue pierceings rofl thats the funniest thing I heard all day well all week actuallly lol... nope never heard that...
good luck!!!
I got my tongue pierced a yr ago next month I didn't feel the needle go in . it didn't hurt that much after I still eat normal as I could with a lot of cold drink's I bled a little it is normal for your tongue to swell after just a lot of ice and cold drink's and ibuprofen will help with the pain and the swelling. as long as you wash your mouth out after you have eaten you shouldn't really get an infection I never got 1 and with tongue cancer I dont really know what the reserch is on it sorry. as for the pain though it depends on the person if you have a high pain thresh hold or not I hope this helps
When piercing, it wont hurts lots. Maybe 1 or 2 over 10?
After the piercing, it wont hurts lots too. When you are eating, and your tongue is swelling, then hurts for maybe 2 over 10?
For me I did not immediately eat solid food. I had milk, juices for the first few days. Then I start to take soup. Try to drink more cold water. It helps you to feel better.
For tongue, it wont get infected easily. But you still need to take good care of it. Treat it as your baby. ^^
That's all I know. Good luck!
1) How badly does it hurt when the needle goes in? for me about a 2 or 3
2) How badly does it hurt afterwards? afterwords it hurt and it swelled for about 5 days for me, dont eat anything solid just stick with liquids and soft foods for awhile
3) Do the majority of people bleed when they have their tongues pierced? not sure about this one, I didn't bleed much at all.
4) If your tongue swells, what do you do? depening on how bad it is. if you think it's infected go to the place you got it pierced and ask about it, when it swells take an antiinflamitory such as tylanol but dont take asprin or any blood thinning pain killers
5) How easily does it get infected? And what do you do if it does get infected? well it depends how well you take care of it, if you do everything the piercer tells you to do it should be fine, but if you dont it will get infected easily. if it gets infected see the person who pierced you, which hopefully is a professional if not go to a dr.
6) Is there any connection between cancer and tongue piercings? not that I know of, I see no reason there would be at all
For me it didn't hurt much at all about 2 outta 10... the following days it swelled but I ate fried chicken that same night (not recomended lol) just eat soft foods like mac and cheese. Nothing too mushy cause it will get under and around the piercing
Overall if this is what you want to do don't worry about the pain and if you go to a good pro you shouldn't have to worry about the bleeding too much...
And CANCER ::smh:: if people got cancer due to piercings then ear cancer would be a leading killer lol (hehe but that's not funny)
The point is evry1 has dif experiences but if you follow the directions of a pro you will likely have a positive experience. :-) good luck
I just got my tongue pierced 2 days ago. the pain not so bad. it was felt like a lot of pressure on my tongue. ummm all I've ate for the past two day is mashed potatoes and oatmeal and some soup, I found a little blood while I was cleaning it. and its swollen bad tonight. but I've ate ice a lot!ummm. not sure about the cancer thing. im 16 and my parents let me get mine done so go for it. I love mine. and wouldnt change it for anything. the all together pain is about a 5 over 10
I have never personally gotten a tongue piercing done and I want one myself. I've hear from countless people that it doesnt hurt that bad and if you're not sure how to handle the pain just take a couple ibuprofen before you go and some after. suck on popsicles and ice cubes to keep the swelling down and dont eat anything really harsh stick with soft stuff like pudding and apple sauce...although for the first few weeks stay away from dairy thats a good way to get it infected. there is gonna be blood as that is a muscle. but not all that much. it will heal fast as the mouth heals faster than your skin (wierd but yeah). when your rinsing your mouth stick with salt water and non-alchoholic rinses. and I cant see how anyone could get tongue cancer or any type of cancer from any type of piercing you parents are trying to scare you so you wont do it. hope it helps
Rite, I had my tongue done on Monday.
The clamps didn't hurt, thats when I started to get worried. Don't be, it's not all that bad, the pain is over in like 5seconds, whilst cracking through the skin.
Yes, mine did bleed a lot! I mean, a lot! It scared me, but once that was over, it was ok. My tongue was like a balloon, really big :L but on the second day (night) I could eat normal foods, although they had to be cut it tiny pieces, an when it got caught it hurt!
By Wednesday, I noticed my tongue was discolouring :S
By, Friday, Saturday, this was getting worse, it keeps bleeding, but not much, Does anyone no how this can be cured? If it don't look ok on Monday I'll have to go back an have it checked over!

How badly does a tongue piercing hurt?

How badly does a tongue piercing hurt?
I really want my tongue pierced for my birthday (which is in a few days).
The thing is, my parents are against the idea. But I'm old enough to go and get it done without their consent.
I just want to consider the pain and problems of a tongue piercing...
before I actually get it done.
1) How badly does it hurt when the needle goes in? (Scale 1 - 10)
2) How badly does it hurt afterwards? (Scale 1 - 10)
3) Do the majority of people bleed when they have their tongues pierced?
4) If your tongue swells, what do you do?
5) How easily does it get infected? And what do you do if it does get infected?
6) Is there any connection between cancer and tongue piercings (my parents reckon there is!)
Thank you! : )
