How are videogames made?

Video games are made though story components coded with a lesser form of C++ or HTML. I'm not exactly sure which on it is, but then you have to apply phsyics get solidifcation and properties of objects so when your person moves their arms and legs don't go through them. Then you start on serious models. you'll need to map out what can and can't be done in the virtual world you're creating. And it's just all technical and difficult to truely describe and understand.
