Personally,it's starting to really get out of hand,half the people that are looking scene are just doing it cause everyone else is,just lame. Both styles are awesome but don't label yourself!

If you know the true definition of an Emo hair cut... which is a complete unique hairstyle that reflects YOUR personality then it has to be hot because it's yours right. But if your doing what everyone else is doing and getting the SAME hair cut and style like everyone else then that is never hot. Do something that is a reflection of yourself and you can't go wrong!!!
