Horror novel advice.

I'm a pretty good writter if I do say so myself. Many people have read my work and loved it. I've been wanting to Write a horror, supernatural like story for a while now and now I actually finished my current novel so I have time to write one. But...I...

just can't seem to think of any good Horror plots or anything like that. Does anyone have any ideas to help me think of something?

it almost sort of has to have a little bit of mystery, but without a detective. The setting has to be at a camp, in an mysterious family member's house (like after the parents mysteriously died and they were the closest family member, that you had seen only a couple times in pictures or something), or at a boyfriend's/girlfriend's house.

If its at a camp, it should be a couple friends (teenagers attract trouble in horror stories), probably experimenting with alcohol for the first time. NO ADULTS. maybe some sex.

I would read other horror stories for ideas.

ps, I like the mysterious relative and camp ones the best

the best friend (or closest acquaintance) becomes sooo close to dying, and then the enemy saves him/her and dies instead, you should have some unexpected reason that the enemy would save the closest acquaintance(maybe clue it in somewhere in the middle of the story)... hope this helps
