Where is somewhere cheap and great to stay in nyc?

I'm from the uk and for my 21st birthday I'm planning a trip to the big apple.So I would like to know where the best and cheapest place to stay.I would like to be close to central park and broadway and I'd also like to be close to the empire states...

building.can anyone help me thankz.

Depends what city. I would think that anywhere with a big population would be expensive. Especially In NY city Manhattan. Try going somewhere in Brooklyn,Queens,Bronx, etc...Somewhere, out of the city.

NYC has many HOSTELS that you can stay in checkum out on the internet. They prices and everything and best of all if you google map the address you may even be able to see the actual location.
