Why are people always looking down on pregnant teens?

I really think it is annoying how people look down on teens that are pregnant. The things they say like, 'You cant be a good parent because your young', 'The baby is going gto have a terrible life', 'What are you thinking?!' It just gets irritating. Yes, I'm fifteen and I am possibly pregnant but that doesn't mean you can tell me how I am going to raise my child and if it's going to have a good life or not. Is it just me? Or does anyone else agree??

Well, the people who say those kind of things just mean, that you're not ready for a baby yet. Just not YET. Maybe in a couple of years. But they just mean that you are still a child yourself and too young . . .
WAY too young to have a baby. You are not financially or emotionally mature enough yet to have a baby. But if you choose to have the baby, then I think just because you are 15 doesn't mean you won't raise it right. You can. As long as you give it love. Just take things slow and take your time and grow up. You're still a kid. And your childhood will be over way too soon. It doesn't last long enough. Have a baby when you're an adult. I mean, you get to be an adult longer than you get to be a kid.
I hope you make the right choice and good luck.

I disagree with brunettesweetie!

It is NOT the decision of a 13, 14, or 15 yr old to have a baby. They are ALL under the consentual age (in most states) to have sex! They are still practically babies themselves. How will they support this child? In most cases they arent even old enough to get a job. It is perfectly normal to have feelings at a very young to want a baby, but realistically they are NOT financially able to support one! Bringing a baby into the world with no way of supporting it is selfish.

This minor still has to finish school, Formula, if they choose not to breast feed, furniture, clothes, doctors, just the hospital bill alone is insane. Babies are expensive, and Its usually left to the parents of that minor to raise and take care of that baby, so can you explain the benefits of having a baby at such a young age???

Teens need to take time to grow up and have fun. Party, hang out with friends. They should wait until they are emotionally and financially stable enough to have a baby! Teens also have their own cultural beliefs about what is normal sexual behavior. Most teenage girls believe that sex equals love, other teens -- especially boys -- believe that sex is not the ultimate expression of the ultimate commitment, but a casual activity and minimize risks or serious consequences. That is a big problem with girls. They need/want to be loved, but are looking for it in all the wrong places!

Education is the key, and parents should take more responsiblity in teaching them about sex, along with schools! It all begins in the home! Parents are the key role models here. They need to start stepping up and being more involved in their kids lives, and know whats going on, and who they hang out with. My mom was involved in my life, but my classmates mom wasnt...she ended up pregnant. (not to say that is true for all, but its usually the case) They need to be taught about morals. Morals are the 'rules' which people use to guide their behavior and thinking. If they had more involved, caring parents, these minors would be making better choices!

No. I'm not religious, and I look down on pregnant teens for logical and practical reasons. I mentioned in another post that I want people to pass a test before they can become parents. Do you know why? Because inept parents have brought down the general state of children today to an all-time low and that makes me sad. I was not the brightest kid when I was thirteen myself, but kids today are disturbingly sad that it makes me sad.

I suppose I need to elaborate, but everything has probably been said in this thread and many other related threads (because EVERYONE wants to have a baby every other day). Just know that being defiant is part of being a teenager and you are not helping yourself.

I reckon that its this girls decision if she would like to have the baby or not
and no-one should judge her for wanting to bring her own child into the world
you would not like to be judged about your own decision would u ?
Jeeze and if you havent noticed, us teenage girls aren't stupid !
we think , we dont just go ' Hey im going to have a babie !'
