I really hate posting a homework question but I've read over the chapter a few times and I still can't come to a conclusion on the answer, help?

b. he died only three months after the declaration of a united Kingdom of Italy, and thus did not live to see Venetia or Rome included in the kingdom...so that rules out c and d. and the answer is b.

Did you mean Cavour, not Avour? He certainly did B - unify Italy - and he is known as 'the Father of the modern Italian state' and 'the man who forged Itraly'.
