Just watched in awe a rememberance of WWII attended by All European leaders. They expressed how proud and grateful they were for ALL who sacrificed for the liberation of Europe. They were thankful for; France, Sweden, Poland,Ukraine, Russia, and. . . ....

heh? What the. . . .not one of them mentioned America!??!?! Hmmm, guess all that blood, sweat and tears my grandpa shed was nothing huh?

What is Europe deal? Are they too proud to mention the Good ole USA?

We should of entered the war earlier, I might give you that. Mean while Mussolini was killing his own people, Hilter was killing his people, France surrendered in like 10 minutes, and America was a whole Ocean away! America is not the cause of all the world's problems. Utopia, you would rather blame the holocaust on America then Hitlers Germany. Geeez, Who is the resonable one here. Any ways. . . there is no more room for my politics on this left-leaning web-site. I'll stick to music, and religion. . . .oops, better stay away from religion, (you know how Christians are persecuted on this site. . . ) Maybe there should be a HISTORY category where we quote facts from actual text books. lol goodnight!

Not everything has to be about America, you know.

Get over it.

Hmmm... right.

Deaths
U.S. = 418,500
Soviet Union = 23,954,000
Poland = 5,820,000
India = 1,587,000
Philippines = 1,057,000

More people died in Asia than did the U.S. I know its hard, after all you've been brought up thinking the world revolved around the U.S. but it so much bigger than that, but I'd take ichi's advice and get over it

WWII American soldiers Served: 16,112,566
wounded in action: 671,846
killed in action: 291,557

WWI American soldiers served: 4,734,991
wounded in action: 203,002
Killed in action: 53,402

and since most deaths were civilian deaths inflicted by Germans and Russians America's losses were quite significant. It is dangerous to leave America out of the history books. And listen here, So-called Advisors, dont tell me what I can should get over. Get over your self.

Let's be real here, about WWII - the US got involved *after* Pearl Harbor right? Of course they did.

When it was about helping, for the good of humanity, the US basically laughed and thought (correctly) it'd become the world's greatest superpower, by watching others essentially fight amongst themselves and kill each other off.

That's sick, and wrong. I, as an American, would have been appalled to hear the European leaders thank the US for being so selfish as to *allow* Hitler to decimate so many lives and waiting so long to act.

I never read in any of the history books where America stood back purposely and said let them kill each-other. Hitler's Germany invaded Poland in 1940 and We entered the war in 1941. In the mean time we were sending Billions of dollars in supply's to England. When we did enter the war it was fought on two fronts. We were fighting an Axis of powers between Germany, Japan, and Italy. Musolini was killing his people, Hilter was killing his, and the Emperor of Japan was killing his, and you would like to blame America? For not getting involved quicker? How did we breed thaat kind of philosophy into our society in such a short span odf years? I hope to God we are not teaching this in out schools today, if we are this world is in big trouble. . .

That self-righteous patriotic attitude is one of the reasons I'm proudly Canadian.

would you please furnish the channel on which you viewed this program?

Germany invaded Poland in 1939. The first U.S. troops arrived in the British Isles in January 1942, but nearly a year passed before they went into action against the Axis. Three years after the war began.
The war in the Pacific started in 1931...We did not enter until 1941. Ten years after war began.

We did not rush into WWII. We entered when we wanted...
FDR knew what was happening in Nazi Germany and did nothing to help jews leave Germany. He supported immigration limits to the U.S. that resulted in the deaths of thousands of jews.

Stop the flag waving...we fought, when we were ready...just as we always do...
